Da Vinci Code

Kemaren malem, gw, Adeline, Barry, Atun, Alvin, Eko dan Chandra nonton Da Vinci Code di Marcus Point Cinema. Kita musti tunggu rada lama, sekitar 45 menit supaya dapet tempat bagus dan beli tiket 3 jam sebelum supaya ga keabisan, sebelum akhirnya bisa nonton film tersebut di atas layar bertitel ultrascreen, layar terlebar se-Midwest.

Filmnya?

Barry, "Buat film yang reviewnya jelek banget, film ini bagus, ga sejelek itu lah."
Gw, "Menurut gw, buat orang yang baru selese baca bukunya 3 hari yang lalu, film ini ga gitu akurat." (Gw cramming baca bukunya sampe abis sebelom film diputer).
Adeline, "Kalo gw, buat orang yang dah lama banget baca bukunya, gw kurang gitu ngerti."

Not so bad after all, though I think the beauty of the story is really diminished by the fact that they're taking out a lot of important points on how to crack the codes, how Langdon requires his potential as symbologist to analyze whatever behind the message left by Priory of Sion. Reading the book was inspiring and somewhat informative, but watching the film, is really a different matter : how to sell the story. At the almost end of the film, there is really a new added portion (appears nowhere in the book) that really shouts "Hollywood". Well, overall? Good but not as good as the book (usual statement if you read any books first before stories appear on the wide screen).

Ada hal laen sih yang penting (buat gw) pas nonton film ini. Lepas dari cerita, I was reminded of someone. Yup, the movie was a lil bit long : 2.5 hours. By the end of the movie, gw dah mulai ga bisa diem. Gw mulai goyangin kepala gw yang cukup cape karena liat ke depan terus. Sometime when the movie was running, gw hilang dari ceritanya dan untuk waktu yang sebentar itu, gw wish with all I have, that he was there, so then I can borrow his shoulder to put my head onto. Leaves me a short shudder before I can resume focusing on the giant sized motion pictures ahead of my eyes. Been a while...
