Is Speeding Ticket Infectious?
yesterday my dear friend RAY, told me that he just got a speeding ticket for running 78 (he was sure he ran at 74 though) at 65-er. He was fined x dollars and got x points for it.
today, I was driving from work, a lil bit relaxed but not really since right after I got home I hurried to the toilet to do #1. Anyway, a policeman lit his light on me and I was ticketed for running 50 at 35. I swear, about a quarter of a mile in front of me was the 45 zone and about another quarter mile after it was the 55 zone! Dang it! I decided not to mention it to the officer as a mean of defense since I sensed that he would also ticket me for being unaware of the current speed limit. So I kept my mouth shut and just gave him my license. Luckily today I was in the mood of wearing my glasses (I have to wear them when driving, it is stated in my driving license anyway). Ticket's $84 and I definitely got lotsa points!
Court date is May 1st at 8:15 AM. Should I go to the court? If it can reduce the points maybe it worths the trip to Oconomowoc. I definitely should research the amount of points I'm supposed to get for speeding in that region. In the other hand, reasons that I should just mail the check for the ticket are :
1. May 1st is a Friday. I have to take vacation day. A work day definitely worths more than $84! I still can't loose that and get $84 in return (if I win the case, that is, otherwise the lost would be $84 + a work day).
2. Maybe I can't even wake up that early for the court.
3. The speedometer showed 50. I should be able to plead 'not guilty' in the court. Can I do it?
RAY, everything in you is infectious! Your flu, and even your speeding ticket! Definitely bad...
Sigh... I'll wait 12 months to clear it up (if I decided not to go to court)
