Back from CA Dec 2008
My plane was 3rd on the line to take off at ORD to MKE. The plane before our plane was the big mighty British Airways, an international flight I guess, looking at how big the vessel was. Then it started to head straight down to the runway. It started moving then it ran faster and faster... My heart also beat faster and faster, waiting for it to really take off. And at last it did, majestically. I witnessed the cleverly designed piece of metal slowly becoming airborne. Didn't even realize that I smiled as it left the ground.
Another smaller plane took off then my plane aligned itself to the beginning of the runway. We sped up. I looked through the window, counting how many other planes were waiting in the line after my plane that time, waiting to fly to the Chicagoan nite sky. 1, 2, 3... Eleven planes! So cute, they lined up like cars.
Not even 30 minutes has passed, the pilot announced that we were about to touchdown. I looked to the southern sky, there, not so far away, I still saw the place I departed from, yet I was in the Milwaukee sky already. Didn't realize the 2 cities are so close to each other. Then I saw the big line, Interstate 94.
The landing was smooth, not the smoothest I've ever had, but smooth enough to make me smile again.
Dunno why I was so amazed with this flight.
