Dayquil and Daiquiri don't match

Regardless the similarity of the names, Dayquil and Daiquiri are definitely not partners.

Well, maybe I should also state that having flu and living near New Orleans also don't match.

Kemaren gw dan D diajak pergi sama coworker ke New Orleans. Makan seafood (I ate a whole boiled male crab, some boiled shrimps, 2 raw oysters, 1/2 fried soft shell crab, some cajun shrimps) daaaan pas diajakin minum Daiquiri, gw MUSTI nolak (dengan sedih yang luar biasa!) pas ditraktir Daiquiri! Hix... (Ini sedih ga ditraktir ato sedih ga bisa minum juga yang mana ga jelas deh gw!). Gw cuma bisa ngomong "I'm on Dayquil..." Dan dia cuma bisa ngeliat gw dengan tampang ga percaya "Huh?!? You're on Dayquil?!?" Terus diketawain abis2an... Dia bilang dia bakal tetep ledekin gw selama2nya ttg Dayquil ini, hix...

Gw masi inget:
TG : "If you live in New Orleans, you don't drink Dayquil. You're like, drinking 24/7!"
gw : "But, don't people in New Orleans get sick, too?"
TG : "Yeaah, there are times when they get sick of it, hangovers, but they still do drink anyway."
gw : "No, I mean don't people in New Orleans get flu? They also have to take Dayquil. Then they have to give up drinkin."
TG : "People DO get flu sometimes. But they don't take Dayquil. They go to Bourbon Street and they drink."
hahahaha... yeah, I can see that already...

Terus dah gitu juga pas jalan2 gw haus gitu kan, di tenga2 New Orleans, on Bourbon Street. Cari tempat minum, semuanya bar :( Dimana dooonk bisa dapet non-alcoholic drink?!? Dengan tampang yang bener2 berharap, kita masukin sala satu barnya, terus coworker gw itu nanya ke bartendernya "Do you have any non-alcoholic drink?" And swear to God, gw masi inget sampe skrg, dengan sangat jelasnya, tampang "Are you freakin nuts? You're in a bar on Bourbon Street and you're looking for non-alcoholic drink?!? Is this a joke?"-nya si Bartender itu yang even sampe ga bisa jawab pertanyaan coworker gw itu (ngegeleng aje artinya "ga ada minuman gituan" dia ga kaga mau!). Liat respon dia, gw lemes... Coworker gw ketawain gw, dan si Bartender masi dengan tampangnya yang bingung. Jangankan juice, Coke pun dia ga ada! (That's how I'm sure they don't have Cuba Libre! ;p) Anyway, akhirnya gw minum apa kawan2? Gw minum Buckler (apparently by Heineken), the only non-alcoholic drink they have, which is actually A NON-ALCOHOLIC BEER. (Jadi keinget sama San Miguel's "zero coma zero").

At the end, I'm on Dayquil and drinking a non-alcoholic beer. Is that still ok? I guess (and hope) so.

(Peristiwa ini masi diikuti dengan fakta malemnya gw sama D pergi ke volleyball terus mereka pada minum BudLite... SEDIH!!! Really sad to see your friends are drinking and you're the only one who can't. Tried hard to think this way : Jadi ngurangin kemungkinan beer belly... though the White Russian Daiquiri does look very tempting, I have to say.)

Since some peeps have been asking what Dayquil is (I can see people knowing what Daiquiri is, hahaha, nice nice... *smiling*), I'll direct you to this page, and make sure you read the last sentence in the "Ingredients" section on that page ;)

The Pilsner I had yesterday nite (Nov 3rd 2007) in the brewery definitely worked FAR BETTER AND FASTER than days of Dayquils! OMG, so the alcohol really fights flu virus better?!? (well, that actually makes sense because Mr. Hackbridge and I worked it out that hand sanitizers do have alcohol ingredient in it... but is dat really how it works?!?)
